World No. 1 Novak Djokovic scraped past a battling Stefanos Tsitsipas in the delayed Rome Masters quarter-final on Saturday 4-6 7-5 7-5, while home favourite Lorenzo Sonego provided a shock win over Andrey Rublev.

World No. 5 Tsitsipas was a set up from Friday (May 14) when the match began before being suspended due to rain.

Djokovic created many break point opportunities and capitalised on six of them to move to the semi-finals. Tsitsipas was a break up in the third set before Djokovic powered back to take a thrilling final set 7-5.

Sonego, who has already beaten Dominic Thiem and Gael Monfils at the tournament, took the match 3-6 6-4 6-3 and will play Djokovic in the semi-final later in the day.
