Radio personality Thato Sikwane, who is popularly known as DJ Fresh, has reacted to his dismissal by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

The public broadcaster announced earlier on Tuesday that it had terminated his contract following unsuccessful engagements between the two parties.

DJ Fresh was suspended for using offensive language On Air.

Reacting to his dismissal, DJ Fresh released a statement saying, “I feel like I have been freed of a burdensome monkey on my back.”

He goes further to say he has no regrets about how this worked out. He describes his stay at Metro FM as magical.

DJ Fresh has also apologised to those who were offended by his use of offensive language On Air.

The SABC says it will communicate in due course who will take over Metro FM’s breakfast show.
