Disgruntled Free State ANC members reject Provincial Task Team

Disgruntled Free State African National Congress (ANC) members have rejected the newly-appointed Provincial Task Team (PTT).

The task team was announced after a court nullified the December newly elected PEC.

The ANC says the PTT is meant to dissuade members from seeking relief in court.

The 14 members include Thabo Manyoni, Olly Mlamleli, Sam Mashinini, Oupa Khoabane and Sisi Ntombela, who all served in the dissolved PEC.

Monnapule Ntamo, one of the disgruntled ANC members, says the Task Team is full of factionalism.

“We have noted the interim structure that is in place in the Free State. However we view that it is not [a] balanced structure because it is a factional structure. They have diluted it with two people who won’t make a difference in that structure,” says Ntamo.
