A first in a series of cold fronts made landfall on Thursday.

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Management Department has warned of possible localised flooding in the Cape Metropole and mountainous areas of the Cape Winelands and the Overberg from Friday until Saturday.

Residents have been urged to maintain their shrubs and trees to prevent flooding.

The city says it is also anticipating a rise in call volumes requesting assistance during the inclement weather conditions.
