Home Affairs Department says that the 10 buses carrying Zimbabwean migrants from Cape Town who were suffering from diarrhea conditions won’t be processed at the Musina repatriation centre in Limpopo.
Department manager at the centre, Albert Matsaung, says the migrants will be processed along the way before they reach the border post.
The buses will head to the Beitbridge border post upon arrival in Musina.
Matsaung says the immigrants who experienced diarrheal conditions won’t be mixed with those already at the repartriation centre.
“What we have picked up is that these busses coming from Cape Town, obviouly, we are going to make sure that there are processed on their way here. They may not be coming to the centre. Remember, those are the busses that are earmarked for Zimbabwe. What it means is that they were supposed to take those people to Zimbabwe. You might find that our officials in the provinces have processed those buses.”
Meanwhile, Matsaung says one of the Zimbabwean immigrants processed at the Musina Repatriation Centre has been detained on suspicion of murder.
He says that investigations are continuing. No further details were given about the incident.
