The outgoing Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) Deputy President, Lunga Mantashe says delegates must take decisions that are in the best interest of the party at the elective conference taking place in Seshego in Polokwane.

Mantashe is contesting the position of the president against the current president, Mzwanele Nyhontso.

Mantashe explains, “I think they themselves will make a decision, that they think is right for the PAC and the future of the PAC so I think that as a person I put confidence  not that I’m merely confident but I’m putting confidence on the members of PAC or delegates to make the  decision that they think is fit.”

Delegates at the PAC conference at Seshego Polokwane, have called for unity after the gathering descended into chaos on Friday.

The Conference is expected to elect the National Executive Council (NEC) and discuss policies.

The Conference was officially opened by Party President Mzwanele Nyhontso on Friday.

The party says that it will use the Conference to focus on issues of land, unemployment, and migration.

Some delegates say the party will emerge stronger post-conference.
