De Lille remains resolute despite uncertain future

Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille has sent a stern message to those wishing her out of power – that she fears no one.

De Lille attended a church service in Langa on the Cape Flats where congregants prayed for her as the DA Federal Executive currently meets behind closed doors to decide her future.

After months of stating her case on several media platforms and behind closed doors while facing allegations of corruption, de Lille had an emotional moment at the World Harvest Christian Church in Langa.

A tearful de Lille sat quietly as she wiped away the tears while church leaders prayed for her.

Later on Sunday, de Lille is expected to hear whether she retains her job as mayor.

While addressing the congregation, she called for a fair hearing and maintained she has not committed any wrongdoing.

De Lille says it is important that she clears her name.

The DA Federal Executive sits on Sunday to discuss her future in the mayoral office. This follows an internal investigation by the party.
