Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille says she remains positive ahead of judgment in her High Court application challenging her expulsion for the DA.

She was speaking outside the court building earlier on Wednesday morning.

De Lille says, “I want to emerge out of this to illustrate to all public reps and South Africans that we have rights, and if you feel that your rights have been violated, that you can always turn to the courts to seek justice for that.”

A full bench of judges reserved judgment earlier this month.

De Lille’s legal team argued that her expulsion from the party was illegal and unconstitutional, while the DA contended that her membership ceased after she made a public intention to resign.
