DA’s Federal Executive to discuss De Lille’s future

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader in the Western Cape, Boginkosi Madikizela, says the party’s Federal Executive will meet on Wednesday to discuss the future of Cape Town Mayor, Patricia de Lille. The DA Caucus in the City of Cape Town has requested another motion of no confidence in De Lille.

The Federal Executive has to grant an approval for the motion. De Lille survived a similar motion by one vote in February with the help of the African National Congress. She is under fire from the DA following allegations of mismanagement.

“The City of Cape Town had their own caucus and they deliberated on the matter which is a motion of no confidence in the mayor. They voted on it and they are now seeking permission from Federal Executive to go ahead with the motion. So permitting tomorrow (Wednesday), among other things we will be discussing that.
