Daily COVID-19 vaccinations in SA still below government’s target

The Health Ministry has released the latest coronavirus (COVI-19) vaccine data which shows the number of  COVID-19 vaccinations in South Africa is still way below the government’s target of 30 000 per day.

The Ministry says more than 202 00- vaccines were administered in the latest 24 hour reporting period.

The total number of shots given to people is approaching 14 million.

Close to 6.8 million people are now fully vaccinated in South Africa.

South Africa has recorded 5 372 new COVID-19 cases, in the latest 24-hour reporting period, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 2 829 435.

A further 282 COVID-19-related deaths have also been reported, taking the country’s total fatalities since the pandemic outbreak to 83 899.
