The Democratic Alliance‘s (DA) Federal Executive (FedEx) is meeting on Monday to discuss its performance in the general elections.

The opposition party’s support declined by 1.46 percentage points in the national ballot and managed to lose its position as the official opposition in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the North West.

There’s been much speculation about whether or not DA leader, Mmusi Maimane’s job is on the line after the party lost electoral support across the country.

The FedEx is expected go over their performance at national and provincial levels discussing what could have impacted their results.

The FedEx will also discuss the governance of the Western Cape, the province which they won majority support.

Also on the agenda will be deliberations over the deployment of officials to the sixth parliament.

The meeting is taking place in Bruma, east of Johannesburg.
