DA on course for major win at Midvaal in Gauteng

Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Democratic Alliance (DA) appears to be on course for a major local government elections win at Midvaal in Gauteng where it currently governs.
With 89% of the votes captured in the municipality, the DA is leading with a substantial 68.2% – a significant increase from the 48.99% in the 2016 municipal elections.
The African National Congress (ANC) has so far captured 16.7% of the votes, massively down from the 42% in 2016.

DA Gauteng MPL and party liaison officer Khume Ramulifho says this is an indication of the quality of services they give to the residents of Midvaal.

“That is a sign that the residents of Midvaal do want to maintain the DA leadership. Returning the DA in Midvaal is a great thing. So we wanted to ensure that this is replicated throughout the entire country in a number of municipalities. That is what we proved when given the chance, we prioritise people. We hope that Peter Teixeira will continue doing the great work on behalf of the DA going forward.”

In an earlier video DA was confident it will retain Midvaal in November 1 polls:
