Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Democratic Alliance (DA) leadership will be out in full force as they continue with their electioneering for the upcoming general elections on May 7.

On Saturday, DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, Mmusi Maimane, will address a rally in Johannesburg as part of the DA’s mass mobilisation on jobs in the lead up to Election Day.

The event will take place at the Sports grounds adjoining Soweto Pace College, Cnr Bendile and Mphahlwa, Zola, Soweto.

The party adds that Maimane will be joined by party leader Helen Zille to lead the ‘Ayisafani protest march and rally’ in Jabulani, Soweto.

This is in reaction the SABC’s notice that the public broadcaster was removing the DA’s ‘Ayisafani’ television commercial from the airwaves. The DA said “this was censorship pure and simple”.

Maimane will also be joined by DA Deputy Federal Chairperson, Makashule Gana MP, DA Provincial Chairperson, Mike Moriarty, DA Regional Chairperson, Khume Ramulifo and Constituency Head, James Lorimer MP.

DA Parliamentary Leader, Lindiwe Mazibuko, and DA Premier Candidate for the Northern Cape, Andrew Louw, will campaign in Upington, Northern Cape on Saturday, 12 April 2014. She will address a rally, followed by door-to-door campaigning.

Following the rally, the DA delegation that will be taking part in door-to-door visits will meet at the Klein Mier Community Hall (Cnr Simonspan St and Skool St) and will depart from there.

Then on Sunday, 13 April, DA leader, Helen Zille and the Mayor of Cape Town, Patricia de Lille, will address a rally in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
