The Democratic Alliance (DA) says Gauteng deserves a premier that will care for its residents and the most vulnerable members of society.
The party’s provincial leader, John Moodey, says that’s why the DA will table a motion of no confidence in Premier David Makhura on May the 15th.
Moodey says he can list more than 100 reasons why Makhura must go including the Esidimeni tragedy that happened under his administration.
“People died… people who needed the protection of the Premier and of society. It is under his watch – and the neglect of his government that so many vulnerable people in society have passed on… and we believe that he must go. Any reasonable leader would know and understand that ethically, that you step down. And that is why we believe that David Makhura is not fit to hold the office of the Premier of Gauteng… and he has to go.”
