DA demands state capture terms of reference by Friday

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The DA is demanding that President Jacob Zuma release the terms of reference for the inquiry into state capture by Friday.

Last week, Zuma announced that Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo would head the commission.

However, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has asked for the scope on the inquiry to go beyond the contents of her predecessor’s State of Capture report.

The DA’s James Selfe says the President must determine the terms of reference so that the inquiry can start.

“The DA is very concerned in the ongoing delays in announcing the terms of reference in to the state capture report. This investigation should, if the recommendations of the PP had been implemented, have concluded some time ago. With every minute that goes past it becomes more difficult to establish how wide and how deep state capture actually went,” said Selfe.
