Cricket South Africa (CSA) has followed in the footsteps of SA Rugby and suspended all amateur cricket until further notice.
All clubs, schools and Mini-Cricket have been put on hold for at least the next two weeks. CSA made the recommendation due to the adjusted alert level four lockdown amid the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The resumption of amateur cricket will be confirmed at a later stage.
South Africa moved to an adjusted lockdown Level 4 this week, with all social gatherings prohibited. Funerals are restricted to a maximum of 50 people.
The country currently has 1 973 972 COVID-19 cases and 60 647 deaths.
