Cross-examination of officers accused of killing Nathaniel Julies continues

The cross-examination of the three police officers accused of killing Nathaniel Julies will continue in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge, Ekhuruleni, on Friday.

The trial was postponed yesterday.

The officers, who are based at the Eldorado Park police station are facing charges relating to Julies’ murder, which took place in August last year.

The 16-year-old who suffered from down syndrome died after being shot allegedly by the officers.

Eyewitness Tahirah Kaldine earlier testified that she and her friend were walking from a local shop when they saw Julies standing by a truck eating something.

She says that’s when a police van drove past a block of flats and emerged minutes later to park near the truck where Julies was standing.

She adds that within minutes, she saw someone in the police van in uniform shoot at Julies before taking his limp body away in their vehicle.
