Crime experts have been combing the scene at which the bodies of four people were discovered in Constantia, Cape Town, on Thursday morning.

The deceased, two women and two men, are believed to be of Bulgarian descent. Police say the bodies have gunshot wounds. The motive for the murders is yet to be determined.

A resident who wishes to remain anonymous, says the deceased always had bodyguards.

“Curtains were always closed, bodyguards, very secretive, never really engaged with neighbours. I’ve spoken to the two bodyguards that I know of. I’ve spoken to them on a few occasions, when I was walking my dogs, they were walking their dogs. Nobody actually knew what went on behind the gates there. We all questioned and wondered. But obviously devastating for families involved.”
