In Limpopo five people died in a multiple car crash on the N1 road near Modimolle. Traffic authorities say two other people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The crash occurred due to a tyre burst from one of the vehicles that was travelling south.

Survivors of the crash Saeda Bosi and Euegene Machimana explain what happened.

“I was driving from Pretoria to Mokopane. Then there comes the car from the north to south. This person was overtaking, unfortunately he rolled from the same direction with us. I was driving in the slow lane then the mini cooper was in the fast lane.  The mini cooper rolled to my car, we were driving in this car so on our way we saw this car coming off the rad, coming to the oncoming.” Additional reporting Koketso Motau
