The High Court in the murder trial of Eldorado Park boy, Nathaniel Julies has heard that accused number one, Caylene Whiteboy confessed to shooting Julies. IPID Senior Investigator Hlanganiso Ndlovu testified in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge in Ekurhuleni.

The 16-year-old Eldorado Park boy was shot and killed in August last year allegedly by the police and three officers who are standing trial for their alleged involvement in the murder.

IPID senior investigator, Hlanganiso Ndlovu testified that nothing was promised to Whiteboy by the time he arrested her. Earlier in the week, Whiteboy’s Counsel, Solly Tshivhase put it to the court that accused number one will testify that she was advised to turn state witness.

Ndlovu revealed to the court what transpired the day Whiteboy was arrested.

“After I placed her under arrest, she continued trying to make statements while I was warning her of her rights. She even wanted to take us to show us where there were some exhibits that were disposed. At that stage my other colleagues, investigator Mathoko took away accused two because she was not feeling comfortable when accused two was there,” says Ndlovu.

The court took several adjournments to allow Tshivhase some time to consult with Whiteboy.

High Court Judge Ramarumo Monama reprimanded Tshivhase after taking too long to come back to court following the contestation.

“Don’t just think about yourself. There are other people involved in this. They are not here coming cheap. And if you are prepared, surely you shouldn’t have taken more than 20 minutes. Yesterday you did the same. You don’t see to take this matter seriously. And the more this matter gets delayed the more they incur costs,” says Monama.
