Court dismisses application to stop KZN elective conference

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An urgent application by a group of aggrieved African National Congress (ANC) members in KwaZulu-Natal to try and stop the provincial elective conference has been dismissed with cost.

The group is different from an earlier that one approached the High Court in Pietermaritzburg to try and stop the conference from proceeding.

The court has ruled that the matter is not urgent, and ordered the applicants to pay the costs.

Last month another disgruntled group successfully interdicted the party’s provincial conference which was held at Empangeni on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
