Reading Time: < 1 minute

Four men accused of cannibalism are appearing in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Nino Mbatha, Lungisani Magubane, Sithembiso Sithole and Khayelihle Lamula are facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

They were arrested in August last year after Mbatha who is believed to be a traditional healer went to a local police station and admitted to cannibalism.

Mbatha and Sithole abandoned their bid for bail while Lamula and Magubane were denied bail.

On Monday the court will get the results of a psychiatric report on Mbatha’s mental state.
