Fancied to win the 2012 Afcon tournament against Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire failed to rise to the occasion, and succumbed to the more-determined Zambian team. It was the same story when they reached the final in 2006 and yet again they failed to emerge victorious.
The star-studded Ivorian team, which boast big names in the likes of Diedier Drogba, Emmanuel Eboué, Kolo Touré, Didier Zokora, and Siaka Tiéné, will hope to reach the final and lift the trophy this time around.
Ranked Number 1 in Africa, Côte d’Ivoire team is under pressure to set their hands on the trophy they last won in 1992.
