Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) says it decided to join the African National Congress stalwarts and veterans consultative conference currently underway in Johannesburg because it needs to reclaim, restore and reunite the ANC.
The conference which has been called on by the stalwarts for more than a year now, is addressing concerns and problems facing the ANC.
It ends on Sunday.
Cosatu’s Zingiswa Losi says the ANC should remember that it cannot exist without the people.
“Cosatu as an alliance, component of the African National Congress in the mass democratic movement. We understand the turbulence that we have went through and we looked back and we said, ‘is it what the alliance looks like today, a true reflection of the alliance that we know and of the alliance that we have committed to?'”
