KwaZulu-Natal Community Safety and Liaison MEC Mxolisi Kaunda have called on the public to partner with police to address the alleged politically-motivated killings in the province.

Kaunda visited the families of both former Umzimkhulu African National Congress Branch Secretary, Nkosikhona Mxhakane and National Freedom Party’s Branch leader in Okhahlamba in the midlands, Nkeni Mabaso.

The two were killed when unknown assailants ambushed them in two separate incidents at the weekend.

“We are certain that with the effect where communities will be able to collaborate with police, we will be able to relate relevant information that will lead to arrest in the two incidents. We also want to commend police for what they did at eNdumeni where they were able to arrest people who were plotting to kill other people. But we need to improve on the side of detection so that we can avert all these incidents and killings,” says Kaunda.
