Collins Chabane Municipality problems resolved

The workers’ problem at the Collins Chabane Municipality in Malamulele, Limpopo, has now been resolved.

This is after the delays in payment of their salaries for September.

The municipality had attributed the problem to technical glitches.

The municipality has invested more than R120 million with VBS mutual bank.

This is despite mutual banks not being allowed to take such deposits.

Ten municipalities in Limpopo invested more than a billion rand in VBS, which is now under curatorship amid allegations of massive corruption.
