The South African Weather Services says a cold front is expected to make landfall in the drought-stressed Western Cape on Friday.

Forecaster, Thabisile Ntleko, says rain of between 10 and 15 millimetres is expected over the Metropole and the Boland.

“We are expecting some light rain and drizzle mainly along the west coast and adjacent interior and then that cold front moves through during the course of the late afternoon into the evening. We expecting some rain off and on for our south western parts on Friday evening and that rain will spread to the Eden district. On Sunday the rain will start clearing towards the western parts but still remaining for the south coast adjacent interior as well as the eastern parts.”
