The case against a 32-year old woman from Bonteheuwel on the Cape Flats who has been arrested for allegedly selling naked photographs of her four-year-old daughter has been postponed to the 15th of September for further investigation.

The suspect briefly appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

She faces charges relating to the manufacturing and the distribution of child pornography.

Community Leader, Angus McKenzie, says they will call for bail to be opposed.

“Today a Bonteheuwel mother appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate court again on various charges including sexual exploitation of her own child,” says McKenzie.

The matter also involves the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“This matter was investigated by the FBI and their service must be applauded. It cannot be and will not be that we allow cases like this to go unpunished. It is for this very reason that I along with a number of residents attended the court hearing today, we will continue to be at court for every appearance,” adds McKenzie.
