Reading Time: < 1 minute

Ninety-two million children in Africa are engaged in child labour since the beginning of last year.

This is according to a joint report released by the United Nations Children’s Agency (UNICEF) and the International Labour Organisation.

The report was released ahead of World Day Against Child Labour on the 12th of June.

UNICEF’s Associate Director on Child Protection, Cornelius Williams says the vast majority of children in child labour in Sub-Saharan Africa work in agriculture, while the largest share of child labour takes place within families.
