Kaizer Chiefs are back to their winning streak. On Wednesday night they beat Amazulu in a thrilling five goal encounter by 3-2.

Bernard Parker, Willard Katsande and Leonard Castro found the back of the net for Amakhosi, while goals from Usuthu were scored by Ovidy Karuru and Mark Van Heerden.

The latest Chiefs victory means that Amazulu have failed to beat Chiefs in the last 12 years.

After 18 games, Amakhosi are 5th on the log with 27 points. Kaizer Chiefs coach, Ernest Middendorp, has commended the character shown by his players against Amazulu.

While Amazulu are still 12th with 17 points after 18 games.

“This is something in one week that shows the character of the players individually and the team in total. This is why I’m talking, hopefully with the support and they come in numbers on Saturday evening. I’m quite confident that with this behaviour, with this character we can make it on Saturday. That’s our focus now,” says Middendorp.

Meanwhile, Middendorp says he doesn’t see Amazulu being relegated this season. The Germany-born coach says Usuthu are a dangerous team in the league.
