Change ANC’s electoral laws: Cholo

Reading Time: < 1 minute

African National Congress stalwart, Tlou Cholo has called for the amendment of electoral laws. He established the first party offices in Botswana and Zambia.

The party veteran believes the public must be given more powers to participate in the election of the country’s president. The current system only allows for the election of a party which in turn decides who should be president. Cholo says this must change.

“I think we will have to change the system of electing the president. Our constitution has so many loopholes. If we do not do this now, things will get worse. We need to consult everyone. We need to give the public more powers to elect their preferred leaders. We need to consult and give people a chance to vote in whoever they want. Look at the branches now, they are dying.”
