Champions League quarters produce exciting clashes

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The draw for the European Champions League quarter-finals conducted at UEFA‘s headquarters in Switzerland on Friday afternoon has produced some exciting clashes.

Two English Premier League teams, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, have been drawn against each other.

Ajax Amsterdam will host Italian giants, Juventus, in the first leg of their tie.

Cristiano Ronaldo will face a young and enterprising Ajax team that eliminated his former team and defending champions, Real Madrid, from the competition.

Runners-up of the previous editions of the competition, Liverpool, will have a chance to progress to the semi-finals when they take on Portugal’s FC Porto.

Porto has not been that successful in the European competition in recent years.

Tottenham Hotspur will host Manchester City in the first leg of an all-English Premier League quarter-final tie.

The Barcelona, Manchester United tie completes the quarter-final draw and it’s a repeat of the 2011 UEFA champions’ league final.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be played on the ninth and tenth of April with the second legs to be played the following week.
