The challenges that black entrepreneurs face in terms of funding are under the spotlight at the Black Equity Financing Symposium in East London in the Eastern Cape.

The gathering will share ideas on how to alleviate the stumbling blocks that prevent black entrepreneurs from accessing funds to boost their businesses.

This is in an effort to grow the province’s economy.

The Board Chairperson of the Eastern Cape Development Co-operation, Vuyani Jarana, says they are working to implement the decisions taken at the summit.

Jarana says, “Once we have got the output from today, we are going to be engaging all stakeholders on today’s policies that are going to be put in place. They are going to be put in place obviously, you need policy, we are going to be driving the formation of policy but the things that are within the control of the ECDC and other role players, we are going to work collaboratively to ensure we implement and not wait for policy.”
