South Africa’s Chad le Clos has won his 50 metres butterfly semi-final.

He clocked a time of 22-point-three-four second, the second fastest time overall.

Ryan Coetzee who was fifth in his semi-final,  qualified eighth fastest.

South Africa has won a bronze medal on day four of the World Short-course Swimming Championships in Hangzhou, China.

Bradley Tandy was promoted to third place in the men’s 50 metres freestyle after Britain’s Benjamin Proud was disqualified.

The race was won by Vladimir Morozov of Russia in 20-point-three-three seconds.
