Festivities to mark the return home of Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, are underway in her hometown of Sedgefield along the Garden Route. A street parade is being held in her honour.
The local community has pulled out all stops to give her a fantastic homecoming. Nel-Peters, who has been based in New York since winning the coveted title in November last year, says she is humbled by the gesture.
“I’m so happy to be here. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be an ambassador for SA; for Sedgefield; for the whole rainbow nation, it’s such an honour. I’m happy to bring the crown home.” Click below for more on the story :
