The world celebrates World Radio Day on the 13th of February. It was announced by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) following the Spanish Radio Academy’s request to the Unesco Executive Board to include an agenda item on the announcement of a World Radio Day.
World Radio Day is about celebrating radio and remembering the unique power of radio to touch lives and bring people together across every corner of the globe.
