Police Minister Bheki Cele is meeting with police in Durban on Friday to officially deploy members to monitor hotspots in KwaZulu-Natal.
He says KwaZulu-Natal will be monitored as a high risk area during next week’s election.

Speaking during an interview with SABC’s Morning Live, Cele says the province remains a risk because of the ongoing political killings.

“And there are areas that are known to be hotspots whilst you are some kind of political party you can’t go to there. Hostels, especially main hostels in KwaMashu and Umlazi, are problematic. That’s why then this province because is identified as a high risk,” adds Cele.
