Police minister Bheki Cele says the docket is currently with the South African Police Service.

Police minister Bheki Cele has refuted reports that the case docket into Senzo Meyiwa’s murder is missing.

He says the docket is currently with the South African Police Service (SAPS).

The Minister says he’s noted with concern the false statements attributed to him that the murder docket of Senzo Meyiwa is missing.

Police ministry spokesperson Lirandzu Themba says: “Minister Cele would like to put it on record that such statements are not only false, but reckless and hurtful to the Meyiwa family, and the rest of the South African republic who want to see justice served in this case.  Now it is important to note that the case docket into the murder of Senzo Meyiwa is not missing. The minister would like to make it clear that it is currently with the South African Police Service.”
