The Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in the Western Cape says CapeNature will allow free access to its reserves for all persons aged 35 and under on Youth Day.

Minister Anton Bredall has encouraged locals and visitors to the province to make use of the opportunity.

He says CapeNature’s reserves are places where people can to get in touch with nature again.

“These include unique areas like the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve, the Stonypoint Nature Reserve and the Cederberg Wilderness area – this is one way we celebrate the sacrifices made by the youth of our country for the freedoms we enjoy today… Visitors will need to provide an identification document to verify their age – free access applies only to persons aged 35 and under and remember its only for Sunday 16th of June,” says Bredall.
