Cape Town is gearing up to welcome almost 50000 travellers from the United Kingdom (UK) over the festive season and into March next year, which amounts to a 30% increase from last year.

Based on flight reservation data, German visitors will increase by 20%, while there’s an 11% increase from the USA.

Cape Town was recently voted the world’s best city for tourism by readers of the UK’s Telegraph, for the seventh time in a row. Cape Town Tourism CEO Enver Duminy says the City has plenty to offer.

“The City is fully committed to the tourism sector and will invest in programmes and initiatives that drive demand and make business sense. Our job is to build the tourism sector so that many more ‘tourism-preneurs’ would be able to enter this exciting industry and to create jobs for Capetonians and to position Cape Town as a destination of choice for travel and trade,” says Duminy.
