Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille says the city is ready to welcome visitors and host its third World Rugby Sevens series at the Cape Town Stadium this weekend.

De Lille says they are expecting more than 100 000 people to attend the two-day tournament.

She was speaking at a joint media briefing which was held with the South African Rugby Union at the Cape Town stadium.

Blitzbokke Philip Snyman and Seabelo Senatla were also in attendance.

De Lille says the city is proud of the Springbok Sevens team.

“We do hope that you will win on Sunday. It’s good to have you back home. We know that Capetonians will be rooting for you this weekend. I’m confident that this weekend will again be a massive success.”
