The City of Cape Town’s Law Enforcement Department is set to dispose of nearly 12-thousand litres of alcohol on Thursday.
The liquor was confiscated from beaches and other public spaces during the previous financial year.
The disposal of the liquor is aimed at setting the tone for expected confiscations during this year’s festive season.
In total close to 17 000 bottles of alcohol will be destroyed as part of the city’s readiness for the holiday season.
Road graders will be used to crush the bottles and their contents into the ground at Ndabeni near the industrial area of Epping.
