Combined dam levels in the City of Cape Town now stand at 50% full.
This follows good rains in the Western Cape over the last few days.
The city gets its water from six dams, namely the Berg River, upper and lower Steenbras dams, Theewaterskloof, Voelvlei and Wemmershoek.
Western Cape dams are now 42% full.
Various areas across the province received good rainfall over the last five days.
Ceres in the Witzenebrg Municipality received 262 millimetres of rain, Kirstenbosch and Stellenbosch received 209 millimetres of rain and Paarl received 165 millimetres.
Wellington received 141 millimetres of rain with the Cape Town CBD following with 134 millimetres.
The city on Tuesday indicated that it believes the current water restrictions and tariffs can be relaxed but this is up to national government.
The next cold front is expected to make landfall in the city next Tuesday.
