Ebrahim Seedat, who has played over 70 games for the club, says it was good to have a break and spend some time with the family, but he and the team are pleased to be back.

Cape Town City’s pre-season is back in full swing as almost all of their players have now assembled ahead of the next month’s Absa Premiership kick off.

City now only await the return of captain Thamsanqa Mkhize, who is with Bafana Bafana at Afcon duty and Austrian Roland Putsche, who is still in Europe, doing rehabilitation.

Ebrahim Seedat, who has played over 70 games for the club, says it was good to have a break and spend some time with the family, but he and the team are pleased to be back.

Seedat, who has been at the Cape Town team since their inception, says that with hard work, anything is possible for this team under the guidance of Benni McCarthy.

The former Lokeren, Bidvest Wits and Milano United fullback is looking forward to working with new signings Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris, but he advises them to knuckle down and work hard.

Seedat will once again be competing with Mozambican international Edmilson Dové for the left back role, but the 26-year-old says he and Dové are close friends. – Report by Rob Delport
