Cape Town City hope to keep momentum going

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Cape Town City will be targeting back-to-back home wins on Friday night when they host Black Leopards at the Cape Town Stadium in the Absa Premiership.

City picked up a big win on Saturday, as they beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 and captain Thamsanqa Mkhize is hoping to build on that momentum when Lidoda Duvha visit.

Mkhize knows though that Leopards will be equally motivated, so City will have to be at their best to pick up a win that could see them jump three spots up to 9th on the table.

With Leopards, two places and three points behind 12th-placed City, Mkhize knows they will have a battle on their hands on Friday.

Having already been singled out by Thabo Nodada last week, Mkhize once again heaped praise on midfielder Surprise Ralani and his recent efforts for the team.

Ralani says hearing his captain’s and Nodada’s praise is humbling.

Ralani says Leopards will be highly motivated for this game, especially after their draw against log leaders Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend.

The 32-year-old says his career has had a new lease of life since he returned to South Africa after spending almost a decade in Scandinavia.
