The main road between the Cape Point Nature Reserve entrance and Scabrough is closed due to firefighting efforts in the area.
Plateau Road linking to the Sirkelsvlei Hiking Trail in the Cape Nature Reserve has also been closed.
This is in an effort to protect hikers and prevent the movement of people in the way of firefighters.
The incident command unit in Red Hill says the fire has now moved to Cape Nature reserve towards Cape Point.

Authorities from Cape Nature say the fire is still active in the nature reserve threatening about 2000 hectares of vegetation.
No lives or property are at risk at this stage.
Ten properties have been destroyed in fires in Gordons Bay, Simon’s Town and other areas in the Cape Peninsula over the past few days.
No one has been injured so far.
