Cape Chamber of Commerce welcomes death of Day Zero

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Cape Chamber of Commerce says it is delighted at the “so-called death” of Day Zero in Cape Town. Day Zero was used by the City of Cape Town to refer to the date when the city would run out of water because of the drought.

The Chamber’s President Janine Myburgh’s comments come after the local authority announced the Metro’s water supply was sufficient to last at least until the end of next year.

The City’s supply dams are on average over 43 percent full following a good start to the winter rains. Myburgh has, however, advised residents and farmers to continue saving water to prolong the progress made.
