Call for tourists to continue visiting Cape Town

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Cape Town and Western Cape marketing agency, Wesgro, has called on international and local tourists to continue visiting the province despite the current drought conditions.

This after enquiries from travellers questioning why they should visit the region at this stage and possibly worsen the situation.

The agency says Cape Town and the Western Cape needs visitors now more than ever, as authorities aim to keep the economy growing.

Wesgro has asked residents to continue welcoming travellers as tourism can assist in shouldering the impact of the drought, especially in smaller towns.

The agency says the local tourism industry has so far led the way in reducing the water consumption.
