Call for information regarding Mabuza’s accident

Mpumalanga police have again called on the public to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle that was involved in the crash in which Community Safety Spokesperson Joseph Mabuza was killed.

He died on Sunday after his motorbike collided with a vehicle that was making a U-turn on the N4 toll road in Hectorpruit east of Malalane.

The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Leonard Hlathi is optimistic that the suspect will be arrested.

“We have not yet located the person who was driving the vehicle on the day of the accident. We are still making a call to the community members to assists us so that we can be able to trace or track down the man. So, we are therefore saying to the community members they must continue to help us. We have Constable Vusimuzi Thobela who can be contacted at 072 1968225.”

Tributes continue to pour in for Mabuza.

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi has sent condolences to the Mabuza family.

KwaZulu Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mxolisi Kaunda has also expressed sadness at the passing of Mabuza.
