Reading Time: < 1 minute

Capetonians can brace for much needed heavy rain from later Monday afternoon.

The Cape Town Weather Office says an incoming cold front will bring heavy showers over mountainous areas as well as cause localised flooding.

The city is still battling with a water crisis caused by drought.

Senior Forecaster, Lebogang Makgati, says more rain is expected later this week.

“We are already having cloudy conditions over us, possible drizzle in places with the rainfall we are expecting it later this afternoon. We are expecting the rain to start clearing tomorrow during the course of the day. Another cold front should hit the Western Cape again on Wednesday evening, bringing again with it a band of showers and thunder showers over us with possible flash-flooding again.”
